The Scarlet Runner beans are just starting to take off - We use T-posts 8' tall to support trellises of peas, beans and vines. We drive 18" into the ground, leaving 6-1/2' above ground for support.
This is one of the eggplant varieties we are testing for the 2011 season. We observe that the use of red mulch beneath the crop enhances plant growth and production.
One of our least favorite, uninvited visitors is the pocket gopher. We deal with a large and resilient population. To keep them under control we trap them. The flags help us keep track of our traps.
