Fordhook Giant Swiss Chard (OG) ~ $ 2.50

Fordhook Giant's nice mild flavor and vigorous growth habit make it the standard for green chard. The leaves are heavily savoyed, dark green, with white veins and stalks. Grows 20-28" tall, and tolerates both heat and cold. This heirloom variety was introduced by W. Atlee Burpee and Co. in 1934. 2 gm./pkt., approximately 140 seeds.

Intense Swiss Chard ~ $ 2.50

Best for baby leaf production, the stems are uniformly red with smooth leaves. May be picked after 26 days when the petioles are 3” long and easy to cut. If grown to maturity, Intense is similar to Rhubarb, with bright red stems and savoyed dark green leaves. 26 days baby leaf, 55-60 days full sized. 1 gm./pkt.

The standard for red stemmed chard and it's no wonder why. This beautiful variety looks like rhubarb and has a stronger and sweeter flavor than green chard.
