In cultivation in France since 1837, Red Cored Chantenay are considered by some to be the best tasting carrots in the world. Sweet flavored, they become even sweeter when kept in storage. Red Cored Chantenay are tasty whether eaten raw or cooked, and completely versatile as to their culinary uses. The exterior is bright orange. Shorter than other cultivars but with greater girth, Chantenay carrots sometimes reach 3" in diameter. 60-70 days. Approx. 425,000 seeds/lb.
