Crenshaw is one of the sweetest open-pollinated melons available, with golden yellow skin and peachy flesh. The spherical fruits are 6–8 pounds with flattened bottoms and pointed stem ends. When ripe, they smell fragrant and the rind has a slightly waxy feel. Gently press a finger into the hard skin and it should give slightly. Crenshaw melons prefer long, warm days. 105 days.
