Hansel is a 2008 All-America Selections winner that offers many advantages over comparable eggplant varieties. The fruits may be harvested as small as 2-3" in length, or as long as 6-10". They are non-bitter regardless of size. The glossy, dark-purple fruits are borne in finger-like clusters and display a contrasting, dark green calyx. Hansel grows to be 25-36" tall and can be planted in small garden spaces. Although the average days to maturity is only 55 days from transplant, Hansel bears high quality fruit over a long harvest season.
